Kelley assists students and alumni of all majors and career interests. Her advising focus areas are Marketing & Advertising; Communications & PR; Journalism; and Entrepreneurship.

Kelley joined the Career Development team in 2017 and serves as both Director of Communications for the office and a Career Advisor with a focus on students and alumni exploring career interests in advertising, marketing, communications, PR, entrepreneurship, and journalism.

Kelley grew up in Lexington and attended W&L, graduating cum laude with a major in business administration in 2008. After graduation, she spent eight years working in the fast-paced advertising industry in New York, Boulder, and Denver. Her advertising career spanned a wide range of brands, from pharmaceuticals while working on the Pfizer account at McCann Erickson, to consumer packaged goods working on Kraft Macaroni & Cheese at Crispin Porter Bogusky, to the auto industry working on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with Universal McCann. She then moved back to Virginia to be closer to home and family, working for The Scout Guide in Charlottesville, a unique printed and online publication supporting independent, local businesses in cities nationwide. She enjoyed her time in Charlottesville, but Lexington is truly home, and in 2017 she returned to her hometown where she now lives with her husband, Jason Melvin, two children and English Setter pup Divot.
